Autistic People & Their Phones

As Autistic people, we are constantly told off for being on our phones whilst we're watching movies and documentaries.

Unless the film has failed to engage us - in which case we ARE probably browsing ad researching unrelated content - we're actually researching AS we are watching!

We're looking things up that we hear the characters say; or, if it's based on true events, we're researching the details that the film isn't fully expanding upon.

We are listening. We are watching. We're providing more context for ourselves by finding more information about and related to whatever it is we are watching.
